I'm not a Royalist by any stretch of the imagination, but I enjoy a holiday weekend as much as the next person, and coincidently this is the second time I have announced life changing decisions on a Queens Birthday holiday. I came to the conclusion, if I am going to be committed to this, if I truly want to make this dream become a reality, it can't be my little secret, it has to be "out there."
I'm not kidding myself that other people really care that much about what I'm doing, but I know how I tick, if I tell nobody, and the self doubt starts to creep in, it's too easy to pretend it's not happening, to give up. But if others know about it, my stubborn "I can do it" attitude will hopefully kick in. Now all I have to do is work out how I'm going to fund this dream.
