I do not own this video, it is entirely the work of the artist

The countdown is now well and truly on, 12, 11, 10, 9, 8, 7............
With less than two weeks until I'll be living my dream, the countdown is ticking away like the clock to midnight on new years eve, but between now and then there is still a bit to be done. Though the packing of clothes will barely be a five minute job as I have so little space left for clothing, it's more going to be a matter of,
"can I make do with just this..?" rather than "how many of these shall I take?"
The final delivery of LifeStraws arrived Friday afternoon and what a great feeling to see all of those little blue tubes, how fantastic was the final tally - 113!!!!
113, that is 63 more than my original goal... they are now bagged up and ready to go, along with 20kg of other assorted aide, including approximately 8kg of first aid supplies donated by Industrial First Aid Auckland, about 3 or 4kg of school supplies from my school stationery supplier plus 1600 condoms from all those people who generously allowed a very helpful GP I know write prescriptions in their name. Along with 10 basketballs kindly donated by the New Zealand Breakers plus some other little goodies... all this is taking up a massive 32kg of my 33kg weight allowance, I can see that I'm going to be making good use of my 7kg hand luggage allocation.
As I have explained on the LifeStraw page, it has been my objective from the start, that when distributing the 113 LifeStraws is to establish a sense of "connection" for those of you who generously donated a LifeStraw to a child in Nakuru, it's my intention to photograph each and every child that receives a LifeStraw along with the photo sent by their donor.
Upon my return I will create a page on this blog dedicated solely to linking the images of the recipients to their donor. I'm not sure how easy it is going to be to photograph every child, but I give you my word, that it's my intention to do my very best to do so......
Asante
Jacq
