Feedback & Suggestions Please

Lots of Ideas, lots of questions, not a lot of answers......

Silent Auction, Sausage Sizzle, Movie Night, Dinner Night, Mud Run..... so many ideas rolling around inside my head, and I'm still so worried I won't make the money.

This is where you come in, I need some honest feedback along with as many money making suggestions as you can possible come up with.

Questions that I need an answer to.
  1. Silent Auction with guest speaker, quality good/services for auction, wine, nibbles and possibly entertainment, how much would you be willing to pay for a ticket to attend ?
  2. If I was to hold a fundraising dinner evening, with an excellent meal prepared by a qualified chef (BYO) mixed with a fun quiz night and spot prizes, would you come? and how much would you be a reasonable amount to charge?........................... And finally
  3. If I was to hold a movie night, how many of you would be interested in coming, and if you came would you be prepared to bring at least a friend or two?
I would really appreciate it if you could take the time to answer these questions for me, as I need to get a feel for how to direct my fundraising energies.  Only today I read on a blog of people having large amounts of money donated for dubious means, under the guise of being broke and needing help.
I assure you, all funds raised. are to be used solely for the purpose of getting me to Kenya, where I will volunteer in the So They Can projects, I will primarily be working in the Holding Hands Children's Home and the Aberdare Ranges Primary School .  The funds I generate will be paying for my flights, transportation to and from Nairobi to Nakuru, an extensive vaccination programme, and accommodation (I've been told there is no running water/no flushing toilet). I am in no way going for a holiday, I will be leaving for Kenya the day after I finish work at Pomaria Primary School for 2012 and I will work the entire time I am in Kenya.  If I am lucky enough to experience any local attractions I will fund these entirely out of my own pocket.

Thanks for taking the time to do this for me

Asante

This is My Reason for Going .......

Eighty orphans live in the Holding Hands Project house, 40 have been there just over a year, and the remaining forty arrived just last month.  These children have lived for most, if not all of their lives on the nearby rubbish dump.  Daily they rummage for food scraps as a means of survival, they are not the only residents of the dump, these children, as young as three years old, compete on a daily basis for food, against pigs and vultures.  We complain if our bread has a moldy crust, or our yoghurt is a day over it's 'best before' date, take a moment and think about... If these children found either of these items, they would think they had struck gold.
Please help me to get to Nakuru, so I can help them.
