This came today....... it made me cry.
Hi Jacquie, thanks for your email. I have had email conversations with Rita, our school and orphanage project manager and Emily, our educaton co-ordinator. They are very keen for you to come to the orphanage over the Dec/Jan break. They have suggested you might like to think about being involved in running a programme to keep the children occupied during their holidays. You would not be alone in making this happen and they would support you fully. We have a good supply of arts and crafts materials, sports gear and a cd player and discs. The orphanage has solar power and the highlight of the last month has been the sinking of a bore hole so they now have plenty of water. There are 80 children at the orphanage - 40 have been there for a year and the other 40 arrived a few months ago.
The other quite exciting development is that we are in the process of completing an extension to the dining/kitchen hall which includes an upstairs with a couple of rooms for volunteers. You could be our first guest there. Let me know if you think this is a project you would like to be involved in and we can continue the conversation with Nakuru staff about how it could work.
will keep in touch
Regards

I'm now officially terrified. Not of going to Nakuru, far from it, that excites me beyond my wildest dreams. Terrified of letting down not only all these people in New Zealand and around the world who are supporting me, but the team at the school and orphanage in Nakuru and the 80 children who live there.
What if I can't raise $7,000? My fingers are screaming out to answer this email immediately saying "Yes! Yes! Yes! I'm coming, I will be there as soon as I finish work at Pomaria for 2012" but my brain is saying "Hold on, can you really do this"
I hate self doubt, and I have it in spades..........
Jacq

And still no word from the person I was hoping to get as my guest speaker, I'm going to have to start throwing out the hooks again. I was contemplating ringing the radio station I listen to, and asking the woman who hosts their breakfast show. Does anybody know a person who could be a guest speaker for me?
